Recently, I had the chance to photograph Andy’s Man Club’s Glasgow 5-a-side football team as they competed in the Ryan Connell tournament. This event was more than just a game—it was a day of community, camaraderie, and raising awareness for men’s mental health.
Andy’s Man Club, a charity focused on supporting men through their mental health journeys, used football as a way to bring people together, fostering connections and opening up conversations. Through my camera, I sought to capture not just the fast-paced action on the field but also the moments of unity and support that made the day special.
From intense matches to heartfelt hugs and high-fives, every image reflected the deeper purpose of the tournament. It was about more than football; it created a space for men to be vulnerable, connect, and feel supported.
The day was a reminder that no one has to face mental health challenges alone. Through my photos, I aimed to capture the sense of brotherhood and hope that filled the event. This tournament was a celebration of resilience, community, and the power of speaking up.
